I made a trailer
It's a been a long time since I have been able to work on HiWave. I managed to get some polishing done and put out a new build around the start of the new year. I also managed to make a trailer!
It's my first Adobe Premier project so it's a bit simple but I don't think it's that bad for a first effort. I'm a game developer, making properly edited videos is new to me.
There are more updates planned. Game balance, especially the end of game waves, still needs a lot of work. The pace should ramp up slowly in speed and not suddenly stop. At some point 5 minutes into a run the game gets easier again because of bad balance. The lives counter is going to be replaced by individual life icons instead of a number. Life icons are a more standard way to do things. I would also like to make a quick retry option. Right now when you lose, it jumps you back to the main menu. Instead I want a retry screen to pop up.
I am working on all of that plus more to come out at a later date. More importantly, I am still trying to figure out how to get feedback. I haven't had many downloads thus far, suffice to say not many players. Experimenting with new ideas to market the game and get HiWave in front of people.
